That is what the 1st Belgrade Startup Weekend is all about!

We give you everything you need, great venue (The Royal Palace at Bulevar kneza Aleksandra Karadjordjevica 96), awesome food & drinks and most importantly, experienced coaches to answer all your questions no matter how simple they are.

We’re also packing several nice prizes for the winners-that is, the best startup ideas as seen by our judges.

Slobodan Djinović

Slobodan Djinović is one of the pioneers of the wireless Internet market in Serbia and founded Media Works in 2000, which became one of the leading alternative Internet service providers in Serbia. Media Works built the first WiMax network and launched wireless Internet services in 2004. In 2010 Media Works merged with two other large ISPs, Sezampro and Neobee.net to create what is known today as Orion Telecom, the second national fixed phone operator and leading alternative telecommunications provider in Serbia.

Stefan Lazarević

State Secretary at Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications

Up to July 2012 he worked in the Ministry of Finance, Cabinet of the Minister, where he was engaged in the creation of the Ministerial strategy, cooperation with international institutions and promotion of e-commerce.

In the period of 2008-2011 he worked in the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society as an advisor for European Integration and International Cooperation Minister’s office.

Graduated from Faculty of Political Sciences in Journalism and Comunicology, in 2000 she founded Infostud with a group of enthusiast, at that time, mainly students. Today, Infostud develops and leads its own websites in 4 areas of e-business: recruitment and employment, education , cars and tourism and employs around 90 people.

Danilo Goliani

Prof. Danilo Goliani, PhD is a management consultant, a university professor of management and marketing and a franchise owner of FranklinCovey USA.

His clients are the World Bank, European Agency for Reconstruction, Swiss Agency for Development, Government of Serbia and prominent companies in Serbia. He founded Oivivio LLC, a firm that owns and manages several fairs, conferences, contests and other events.

After receiving a Ph.D. from University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles in solid-state physics, specializing in nanotechnology, his business and banking family’s background steered Dr. Goliani toward the high level business world. He was a President and CEO of a high-tech company in the Silicon Valley, CA.

Vuk Guberinić

Vuk Guberinić graduated in Finance at Greensboro College and got MBA in St. John’s University in Rome, both with Cum Laude. He started his career in Columbia Partners, Fund of Funds and from Moses Cone Health System/LeBauer Healthcare and SEAF Balkan Fund through Surikati Ltd got to Serbian Private Equity Association where he holds a position of Executive Director. He also works in Orion Telekom as a Business Analyst.

Zoran Ilić was born in Serbia and has been an entrepreneur since age 20. He founded Biomelem a manufacturer of herbal remedies and cosmetics with his wife Zorana and the company is one of the premier businesses of this sort in Serbia. He was a co-founder of Borislav Stankovic, the first college of basketball in the world, as well as the NGO Moj Heroj.

He specializes in web and internet technologies, with a twist on data analysis, and is frantic about hacking around data integrity and security issues.

Vladimir Nikolić

CEO at Limundo.com

Vladimir Nikolić was born in Belgrade, Serbia, roughly 29 years ago. With 4 years he left with his family to Berlin, Germany. In Germany he learned the great advantages of freedom and a multicultural environment. After high school he decided to move back
with the family to Serbia.

During studies in Serbia, he worked as a DJ in Germany and as a translator in Serbia. Since he comes from an entrepreneurial family, he started together with his brother Nenad the internet company Limundo. The goal was to give people in Serbia the great possibilities the internet and especially
e-commerce was able to deliver in other countries.

The company hast two most visited e-commerce sites in Serbia: Limundo (auctions) and Kupindo (marketplace).

In 2009-2010 the company, with Vladimir as chairman, was able to
attract investments of 1mil EUR, having now over 30 employees.

Alex Petrovic

Partner at JSP law firm

Alex Petrovic graduated from the University of Buckingham Law School and completed postgraduate studies in applied information technology at the Information Technology Institute in Toronto.

Mr. Petrovic specializes in information technology (IT) law which includes software licensing and development, maintenance, outsourcing, internet and e-commerce, e-banking, e-government, e-gaming, digital intellectual property and rights management, digital data protection, service level agreements etc.

He acquired extensive international experience in the IT industry as a project manager and legal advisor in Canada, England and Slovenia. Mr. Petrovic is involved in the drafting of various e-laws in cooperation with the Serbian and Belgrade Chambers of Commerce, AmCham Serbia and the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society. He is founder of the Serbian Canadian Business Network and works with US Aid, the US Commercial Service, SAM (Serbian Association of Managers) and SIEPA (Serbia Investment and Export Promotion Agency) on IT related matters.
